About the Australasian Tunnelling Society (ATS)

The Australasian Tunnelling Society is comprised of engineers who work in industries that utilise or rely on tunnels. The ATS is concerned with advancing knowledge and promoting the latest best-practice techniques for all aspects of tunnelling including:

  • design
  • construction
  • use of underground space
  • technical aspects
  • health and Safety
  • sustainability.

The Australasian Tunnelling Society is a Technical Society of Engineers Australia. It is affiliated with:

  • The Australasian Institution of Mining and Metallurgy
  • The Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand
  • The International Tunnelling Association.

Activities and benefits
